In the 2009-2010 academic year we planned the first lecture that would eventually become a series of lectures in the “Hellenic Arts and Sciences Series”. The idea and purpose behind the formation of the “Hellenic Arts and Sciences Series” was to create a series of lectures given by professors, scientists, academics or businessmen of Greek origin, willing to share their experiences with Greek and non-Greek students on campus. With the help of Dr. Moudrianakis, Dr. George Dimopoulos, Associate Professor at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and Malaria Research Institute, gave a fantastic and stimulating lecture about the techniques of engineering mosquito resistance to human pathogens.
